SGM started in the laundry room of a house. The company was totally bootstrapped with no investment. Back then the original founders were musicians doing music. Promoting music was tough with no money, so we had to go guerilla. This was the days before social media. One of our favorite campaigns back then was during an election year. We got wise and decided to print up campaign signs to place all alongside the politicians’. This also birthed our “4th of July” logo, which we eventually printed on hats. (If you still have one, let us know.) No announcement, no warning, just posted. This was back before we even owned sleepinggiantmusic.com. The website was taken so we originally chose giantaarise.com. We were small and kids with big dreams. Never give up.
